Dear Ms. Nordberg;

Thank you for your letter dated March 24, 2003, in response to my initial inquiry dated February 18, 2003.

First of all, I have made a couple typo and date corrections in my initial letter to you, and it will be included with this. Please discard my initial letter, and keep this revised one. And please note that the time frame addressed by me has been revised to 'late 1991 thru early 1992'. Strange how this timeframe is directly pertinent to timeframe of when we discovered how to properly detect hepatitis C in blood reserves.

I have no problem with your information authorizations, and have signed and included them as well.

As well, I will make a trip over to Kaiser next week and arrange to obtain all hepatitis C medical records from them and forward them to you. Of interest perhaps, I attended an American Liver Foundation (ALF) self-help hep C meeting last week or so, and the consulting doctor after listening to my story, and in much agreement about my hep C cause claims, asked me to obtain all hep C related records from Kaiser – liver biopsy and blood test results in particular, and see if I could get their GI doctor to make an educated estimate of the duration of time I've had hepatitis C – based on liver biopsy results. I'll see what I can do in regasrds to this estimate also.

In regards to my allegations about a doctor indulging in drugs... It is a long story. First of all, it is based on my personal observations during this minor procedure, and hours before I went in a state of being comatose. He exited from CT Scan monitor room in state of panic, stating “Oh shit I missed.” This isn't the type of expressions for a doctor to exhibit when a scared patient still has a huge aspirate needle device extending from his abdomen!

After that (after coma), it was confirmed in a fashion by a couple ICU nurses - “...might be drugs, there have been other problems.”

It was the above two items that started me on my 'doctor on drugs' quest. That, and a minor procedure gone real bad for some reason!

As I was recovering at home, and finally started back to work, I went and paid for an office visit to your then head of surgery, Dr. Lim, the gentleman who saved me. I verbally told him all my suspecions about the then Chief of Radiology, and interesting enough, some of the paper records I have retained on all this indicated him to be none other than a Dr. Timothy Sprague. Anyway, Dr. Lim would not confirm or deny – his statement in regards to this was: “...might have been, might not have been.”

And even more interesting, it wasn't long after the visit with Dr. Lim that I learned from the attorney I was using at the time to file a malpractice suit against this doctor, that this doctor had left Holy Cross “over some problems” and was working at another hospital down south from here.

And within the 9 months this amazing attorney dawdled on all my hospital medical records, he informed me two more times this doctor had left for a new hospital over “some problems”. Two times, over “some problems”.

Now, I would just bet you could obtain also some personel records from Holy Cross indication what some of the problems may have been.

Even though this is all OLD ISSUE, that I caved in on deciding to not proceed any further, it is 100% related to my new hepatitis C issue. It was this minor procedure gone awry that led to my comatose state the following day (and following 2.5+ months), and my need for 70+ pints of blood, and 1+ month of dialysis. Four hospitals in two years, always leaving over 'some problems', this tells me, in short fashion, that my 'assumptions' are correct! On top of what I witnessed! On top of some confirmation by ICU nursing staff.

Now... With my hepatitis C, through the 1980s due to my off-road motorcycle racing, I was three times in the hospital for repair surgery. Once turned out to be a spleenectomy in Holy Cross, due to some broken ribs damaged my spleen beyond repair. Once was a ligement graft to repair a badly damaged cruciate ligament left knee, and the final was orthoscopy on my right knee to reattach a damaged cruciate with staple. All three required a blood test prior to surgery, so if I had hepatitis C during that timeframe, it would at least have shown as:

I however, received ZERO conversation about blood tests not looking proper, nor any phone calls after surgery about blood test results not looking quite right.

So, this along with some other things tells me I DID NOT have any hepatitis C prior to my '91-'92 Holy Cross 'mishap'. I have had no transfusion or dialysis post '91-'92 Holy Cross. We both know that back then transfusions were notorious for spreading hepatitis C to new patients. And articles at WebMD today inform me that 10% of patients needing dialysis end up getting hepatitis C.

New subject: you mentioned employment background on me. I don't really know what you'll be able to obtain. Just post (one week following) our '94 Northridge Earthquake I was 'laid off' from Borg-Warner after 19 years 8 months employment. Borg-Warner is a Chicago corporation, and by '96 we had no more Borg-Warner in California. I was a little miffed at time of layoff due to my seniority not protecting me, and I had several with much less seniority who worked for me, that I had trained on new products. But I was distraught with a small amount of our management poor decisions, and felt the layoff was a really good time for me to leave!

But still, my Holy Cross insurance impact had something to do with their decision! I made good money working for Borg-Warner, my last 10 years I grossed between $73K and $104K. So my payroll caught their attention, as well as a Holy Cross 'minor procedure' gone awry, that impacted their insurance to a tune of $1.5+ million. They made a good choice, and at the time I was pleased with it.

With Borg-Warner not in California any more, if you need employment history on me more that what I've provided, I suppose it would be best to contact , Flowserve, who has taken over retirement savings plans, etc.,
